RECIPE FOR SOFT SCONES
A scone is a British snack usually made with wheat, flour or oatmeal glazed with egg wash.
INGREDIENTS
° 3 1/2 cups all purpose flour.
° 1/2 cup white sugar.
° 5 tsps baking powder.
° 55g butter.
° pinch of salt.
° 150ml milk
° 1 egg( beaten to glaze)
° Dried fruits

TOTAL TIME: 45 minutes

DIRECTION
1. Preheat the oven to 200°C.
2.Grease baking tray(sheet) with butter or oil.
3.In a medium sized bowl, mix flour, baking powder and salt together and rub in butter.
4. Add white sugar, dried fruits and then the milk.
5. Knead well to get a soft dough.
6. Afterwards, move dough unto a floured work surface and knead briefly.
7. Using a rolling pin, roll dough out into a 1/2 inch thick round, then divide into 8 wedges. Glaze the surface of the scones with egg using a brush and place on the prepared baking sheet(tray).
8. Bake for 20 - 30 minutes or until golden brown.
9. Transfer unto a cooling rack to cool for some minutes.

Serve scones with clotted cream, preserves/jams and lemon curd( for dippings)
